Company SN PROMET with its seat in Sosnowiec ( Poland ) was founded in 1958. At the beginning company produced small metal haberdashery.

Its development was limited because of too little space. Only beginning of the seventies, contacts with leading electrotechnical companies and with Small-engine Cars Factory in Bielsko-Biala , was the start of its expansionist development. Then a new structure was built. It fulfilled company demands and offered favourable conditions for work and rehabilitation of the blind. In this period in company SN PROMET production of push-buttons and brake pipes was started. Brake pipes for Fiat 126p are produced till today.

In the eighties the dynamic development of production both in motor and electromechanical branches was continued. In this time the production of many products was started, and till today many clients are still interested in them. The connections with motor industry was tightened. At the end of eighties they started to work on production of brake pipes and electric connectors for Fiat Cinquecento.

The change of social and political system in Poland at the end of the eighties caused some troubles in whole industry and in SN PROMET too. At the time of its biggest development the staff of SN PROMET was numbered 1300 and then it had to decrease. SN PROMET had to adapt itself to new economic conditions in Poland .

At present SN PROMET employment numbers 370 people. The range of products is developed all the time. During latest years PROMET has introduced a new range of push buttons and signal lamps, which are manufactured in cooperation with Swiss company EAO. Recently PROMET has extended a production with miniature position switches (limit) and control boxes for cranes.
